Pyramyd Dance Company was founded over 18 years ago by Mama Yaa to expose people of all ages to African culture. Mama Yaa has taught for Alvin Ailey, Connecticut Ballet, New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), Bates College, Wesleyan University, Essex County College, and numerous elementary and high schools throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Every child enjoys the chance to move and explore musical instruments-all while learning valuable life lessons.
