Sports Vacation Programs

Work on and polish the players' skills in soccer and basketball, as well as learning new skills and tactics. All players will have one swim a day as well.

IMPORTANT: Policies and Procedures

  • Programs are open to Members and Guests of the JCC.
  • $65 Member/$80 Guest.  Programs may have higher fees; check individual programs for exact details.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations 48 hours prior to a Vacation Program will receive a JCC credit. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to a Vacation Program will receive no refund.
  • Before and After Care is available at no additional fee from 7:30am–6:00pm for all Vacation Programs.
  • Parents who pick up after 6:00pm will be charged $1.00 per minute.
  • Any child who requires a Shadow Counselor must coordinate this arrangement with our Special Needs Director. The Shadow Counselor is paid separately by the parent.

Get your groove on as we head over to the West Orange Skating Arena to enjoy an afternoon of ice skating! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced skater, you are sure to have a blast! Skate rentals will be included, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. No swimming on this day.

Winter Wonderland

Experience all the wonder of winter with out stepping foot outside. Spend the day creating dazzling snow globes, making frozen snow cones, and baking snowflake cookies. We will also enjoy the gym and pool. Spend the day experiencing why winter is truly a wondrous time of year.

The Morris County Connection's mission is building a more cohesive and engaged Jewish community by raising people's awareness of the services available to them in Morris County. Two Much Fun

2 Years

The summer is filled with crafts, indoor & outdoor play, stories, snack time, and music. We respond to your child's need for routine, nurturing, and activity. several morning options offered. Children must be 2 by the beginning of the program.

Kids Camp

3 Years

Introduce your child to his or her first true camping experience, includes weekly themes, instructional swim, organized sports, arts & crafts, daily kosher lunch, daily outdoor playground time, and much more.

Mini Camp

4-5 Years

All the fun of a "big kid's camp" close to home. Sports instruction, swim instruction and free swim, creative arts specialties, tennis, soccer, tae kwon do, basketball, t-ball, daily kosher lunch, weekly specials, theme weeks, and Shabbat celebrations. Our caring, experienced staff form a strong and competent team turning the summer into a memorable experience for your child.

Basketball for Adults

 35+ Temple Basketball League

The 2011-2012 Season is quickly approaching!  Interested teams or players should contact Matt at 973-530-3404 or mfox@jccmetrowest.org

Our Men's Temple Basketball League is committed to maintaining, strengthening, and enhancing the ties between the JCC MetroWest and outlying synagogues/temples through sport. The JCC MetroWest is dedicated to securing its role as a leading center of Judaism, family, and friendship throughout the community.

This league runs from November through March and is open to men 35 years and older. Games are played on Monday and Thursday evenings. The teams in this league are a mix of local temples and our own JCC teams.

Certified referees and scorekeepers are used for all games

Spring and Summer Basketball League for Adults Ages 18 and Up

The JCC will be offering a Spring and Summer basketball league for adults ages 18 and up. The league will take place from May through July.  Come join us at our top of the line facilities for some competitive play. Teams will play twice a week on Monday and Thursday nights to determine the champion. Create your own team, or join the JCC team.

League includes:

8 regular season games and playoffs
Reversible Mesh Jersey
High School Certified Referees and Scorekeepers

Divisions will be broken down based on age.

For men and women with flexible schedules who are seeking meaningful experiences.

Women @ Leisure

Women @ Leisure (WAL) is a group for women of all ages with flexible schedules who are seeking meaningful experiences and special programs.

WAL meets the second Tuesday of the month (except where indicated) from 9:30 AM-Noon, at the Lautenberg Family JCC, Whippany. Programs include breakfast, lectures, discussions, trips and social action activities. The Lautenberg Family JCC is fully accessible and offers ample free parking.

JCC MetroWest and WAL membership are required to participate in WAL activities. WAL is sponsored by JCC MetroWest.

Men @ Leisure

Couples @ Leisure

A unique approach for couples to meet new friends. Couples @ Leisure (CAL) is a social group where activities are planned by members for members, on an occasional basis.

Activities can include dining at various restaurants, potluck suppers, card parties, and car-pooling to cultural events such as the theatre or ballet. During the event, the couples attending decide on the next event to be held. These activities are peer-led, and participants will be responsible for deciding on the activity, providing their own transportation, and paying for the activity. Couples @ Leisure meets one Sunday a month at the Lautenberg Family JCC, Aidekman Family campus, in addition to other events.

A non-refundable annual registration fee per couple is required to participate in Couples @ Leisure.

Fast Break Basketball

Basketball for kids!

Fast Break- Kindergarten

 

Learn how to dribble, pass and shoot, plus basic basketball strategies. Emphasis of league is to provide the opportunity to learn and have fun. Players will have the opportunity to participate in noncompetitive enjoyable games which will teach them different parts of the game of basketball while having a good time. Drills will build a foundation for a successful basketball career.

Fast Break- Grades 1-4

 

Three weeks of instructional clinics and then players will be drafted onto teams in December, followed by games, concluding with playoffs and championships. Trophies awarded to all program participants. Games will take place on Sundays at the JCC in West Orange and practices will be held one night during the week. Fee includes: t-shirt and trophy.

Season will conclude with an end of season celebration.

JCC Travel  Basketball Leagues

 Hoop Heaven Fall Basketball Leagues

The JCC will enter teams into Hoop Heaven's Fall Basketball League based on interest. Games will begin in September and will run through the end of November. Games will be played once a week at Hoop Heaven in Whippany and practices will be held 1-2 times a week at the JCC in West Orange.

Separate teams for boys and girls are formed as follows:

Grade 4

Grades 5 & 6

Grade 7 & 8

Grade 9 & 10

Grade 11 & 12

Hoop Heaven has a variety of league levels from recreation through competitive and each team will be placed according to their ability.

Fee includes: 8 regular season games and playoffs, practices, high school certified referees, scorekeepers and reversible mesh jersey.

Winter Travel Basketball Leagues

 

The JCC Teen Travel League is committed to enhancing ties between the JCC and surrounding communities. We will play other Essex and Morris County teams on Sundays at Hoop Heaven in Whippany. Practices will be held one night during the week at the Cooperman JCC in West Orange. All levels of play are welcome and teams will be entered into the appropriate age divisions. We are going for the championship!
