All the fun and experiences of
a “big kid’s camp” close to home!

Young Adult and ChildJCC MetroWest Early Childhood Camps open the world of camping to your child while building independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

Our camps are specifically designed for your child’s age group:

Camp Katan (2s) provides a safe and secure environment with experienced, nurturing staff guiding your child’s first experience in a summer camChild with Racketp environment.  This very special program includes music, arts & crafts, water play, and Shabbat.

Camp Yeladim (3s) fosters more independence within a nurturingenvironment as your child grows.   Instructional swim, gym, lunch, special events, and theme weeks round out the day’s schedule, which may be extended with enrichment programming.

Camp Gadol (4s, 5s) offers “the big kids on campus” a world of activity. Daily instructional swim, sports specialties (t-ball, soccer, tennis, basketball, and more), karate, yoga, drama—all with experienced camp staff on the grounds and in the comfort of the Cooperman JCC building.  Shabbat, lunch, special events, and theme weeks too.

UPCOMING HOLIDAY CLOSINGS:   Monday, April 14:  JCC closes 3:00 pm, Adult Day program in session, no evening programs.  Tuesday, April 15:  JCC CLOSED in observance of Passover.  Wednesday, April 16 through Tuesday, April 22:  Adult Day program in session, no evening programs.  All programs resume normal schedule on Wednesday, April 23.   JCC Administrative offices closed April 15 and 16, April 21 and 22.

Summer Programs

Teen Tracks Travel Camp

This daily travel program during the month of August provides teens and young adults who have special needs the opportunity to spend the day in the community on daily trips, while providing them with opportunities to learn daily living skills.  Activities include trips to the beach, museums, sporting events, entertainment complexes, yoga class and more.  Program hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm daily.  Teens can attend, 1,2, 3, 4, or 5 weeks.  An intake interview is required for all participants.  4:1 camper to staff ratio.

  • 5 weeks: $3225 JCC Member/$3725 Guest
  • 4 weeks:  $2850 JCC Member/$3250 Guest

  • 3 weeks:  $2375 JCC Member/$2675 Guest

  • 2 weeks:  $1700 JCC Member/$1900 Guest

  • 1 week:  $970 JCC Member/$1070 Guest

Inclusive Camp Opportunities

We work with families to provide individualized camp opportunities for chidren with special needs to attend summer camp with their typical peers.    Our Camp Friends Program at Camp Deeny Riback in Flanders provides children who have special needs with a one to one shadow counselor to help each child to fully maximize his or her experience.  Shadow counselors are typically teens or college students.  Shadow programs are also available in the JCC's Early Childhood CampsExplorations Camp and Triple Threat Theatre Camp, both of which are located at the Cooperman JCC in West Orange.  Enrollment is limited.  Interview and complete intake process required for admission to the program.  For more information, call 973-530-3479 (Early Childhood Camps), 973-530-2901 (Camp Deeny Riback), 973-530-2922 (Explorations Camp) or 973-530-3421 (Triple Threat Theatre Camp).

EC+ Me

Join Club JCC and the popular, JCC-based Exploration Camp for four weeks of fun at the JCC! Campers will be provided with the summer camp experience they have been dreaming of while receiving the supports and modifications they need to make each day a success. Campers will be included in the day to day themed activities of Exploration Camp to the greatest extent he/she is able to participate successfully. Campers will also be provided with supplemental activities as a substitute when appropriate. The daily camp schedule includes a morning meeting, themed activities, lunch, fine & gross motor activities, and swim. Participants are provided 3:1 support by our highly qualified staff.  Children’s schedules will be individualized to the greatest extent possible.

Camp Katan (2s)

Katan (2s) provides a safe and secure environment with experienced, nurturing staff guiding your child’s first experience in a summer camp environment. 

The summer is filled with crafts, indoor & outdoor play, water fun, snack time, music, weekly themes and Shabbat celebrations.

We respond to your child's need for routine, nurturing, and activity. Three or five morning options offered. Children must turn 2 by October 1, 2012.

A fitness program including yoga and swim, targeted to teens with Asperger’s Syndrome and ADD/ADHD.  Swimsuit/towel required plus comfortable clothing for yoga.  The program is supervised by professionals with extensive experience with individuals with special needs. 

Fall 2013: 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23 

15 Thursdays: $525 JCC Members/ $600 Guests

An offsite social recreation program that provides teens with special needs the opportunity to learn and practice life skills in the community.  Activities take place at local restaurants, theaters, bowling lanes, entertainment centers, etc.  Lunch and admissions are included in the fee.  The program is supervised by professionals with extensive experience with individuals with special needs. 

     Fall 2013: 10/13, 11/10, 12/8, 1/12 (4 trips)

     Winter/Spring 2014: 2/16, 3/23, 4/27, 5/18 (4 trips)    

     Price per Sunday: $50 Member/ $55 Guest

 

Parents Night Out

After a long week of school, work, and extra-curricular activities let Club JCC take the pressure off and provide you with a pre-planned evening of fun, relaxation, and childcare! You will enjoy an evening of respite as your child enjoys activities such as swim, use of the basketball gym, arts & crafts, a movie, and other fun activities with our qualified staff.  This program is open to both our participants with special needs and their siblings.  If you can’t join us for the planned parent activity but still need childcare, feel free to drop off your child and enjoy whatever else you may have had planned! We hope that this opportunity for respite will allow you to rejuvenate!

Fall 2013:

“Our hands-on art sessions allow anyone to uncork their inner artist and create something of their own. Get inspired by original works of art, an on-site artist’s guidance and of course, a glass of wine.”

“This international beer tasting extravaganza will showcase more than 50 breweries from across the globe, each providing samples of their country’s proudest brewing achievement.”

Get Creative with Club JCC for Kids!


Ages 7-14
Monday evenings from 5:30pm-7:00pm

Get the creative juices flowing with Club JCC partnering with ARTS UNBOUND! Artists from ARTS UNBOUND will provide a sampling of the different creative avenues available to our participants.  Ceramics, painting, creative construction projects, drawing, print making, and more. Get a little messy while having a lot of fun! Program fee includes all materials; all you need to bring is your creativity and imagination.

Fall 2013: 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2
8 Mondays: $320 Members/$360 Guests
 

Parents Night Out

Club JCC Sports & Games

Ages 5-12
Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm

Wednesday evening sports and recreation program for our school-aged participants! Participants will learn basic skills and rules of popular games such as basketball, soccer, baseball, and tennis. Children will focus on appropriate social behaviors in a recreational setting while improving their gross and fine motor skills. Throughout the sessions participants will also enjoy recreational games such as freeze tag, running bases, and relay races. This program will emphasize following directions and completing multi-step tasks. Staff to participant ratio is approximately 3:1. 

Fall 2013: 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20
8 Wednesdays: $240 member/$280 guest
 

Club JCC Junior Swim & Yoga

Ages 8-12
Thursday afternoons from 4:30pm-6:00pm

Join us for an afternoon of yoga and swimming which is targeted to children diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and ADD/ADHD.  Children participant in a group recreational swim session after enjoying a yoga class.  Supervised by professionals with extensive experience with individuals with special needs.
