Children's Jewish Education Program

The vision of the Children's Jewish Education Program, is to provide children ages 5-18 years old with special  needs a Judaic curriculum that enables them to embrace Judaism throughout their lifetime to the best of their individual abilities.  The program teaches holiday celebrations, Jewish values, customs, Teifillot, Torah stories and Hebrew letter and word identification.  The Jewish Education Program is incorporated into the Club JCC Junior Sunday Program.....see program catalog for further details.

Dance-A-Thon

Tentative Information:  $20 Admission includes a serving of baked ziti, a salad, and drink.  Raffle tickets & additional snacks available for purchase.

Rebecca has been the Director of Special Needs Services at JCC MetroWest for four years.  She has been a JCC and non-profit administrator for 27 years including Camp Director, Youth / Teen Director, Senior Adult Director and Assistant Executive Director of the South Shore Y (Friedberg) JCC in Long Island, NY, administrator at the JCC of Central NJ, Brain Injury Association of NJ, has served as a case manager on a child study team and is a member and board member of various professional and non-profit organizations.  In her four years’ tenure at the JCC, the Special Needs Department has grown by over 40% , including program expansion and increased attendance.  Ari and Zach's Place, a brand-new, dedicated space for our Special Needs Department, was recently opened in June, 2014 and supported by two generous donors.    Rebecca strives for inclusion in general JCC programming wherever and whenever possible while simultaneously offering a wide array of quality self-contained activities and events.

We are excited to welcome Chrystal Henion to our staff!  Chrystal brings with her a wide variety of background, including work with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children of Bergen County and Americorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America).  Chrystal is a graduate of Montclair State University where she majored in Justice Studies.  She is a dedicated Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer and has worked extensively in the areas of fundraising, grants, volunteerism and non-profit Boards of Directors.  Chrystal’s work with CASA involved work with all types of families including those with special needs.  Her guidance provided the volunteers the support they needed to function in their roles as advocates for children and their families.

Chrystal is greatly looking forward to working with our community.  She enjoys cooking, gardening and thrift shopping.  Chrystal is an avid New Jersey Devils fan and loves watching hockey games. 

We are fortunate to have Chrystal on our team!
