JCC METROWEST ANNOUNCES

14th ANNUAL GAELEN JURIED ART SHOW & SALE

SUNDAY, MAY 19 THROUGH SUNDAY, JUNE 23

The 14th Annual Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale, sponsored by Audrey & Norbert Gaelen of West Orange, will open on Sunday, May 19 and run through Sunday, June 23 at the Gaelen Gallery West of the Lautenberg Family Center, Aidekman Campus, 901 Route 10 East, Whippany. This year 85 works by 51 artists will be featured in the following media: Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, and Sculpture.

An Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2:00pm- 4:00pm. Best in Show, Best in Medium, and Honorable Mention awards will be presented in six categories at 2:30pm. The Gaelens will also present a specially designed glass gift to each of the juried winners. This year’s distinguished panel of judges includes: Andy Foster, Professional Photographer and owner of Gallery 51 in Montclair; Lawrence Cappiello, Executive Director of Arts Guild New Jersey in Rahway; and Mimi Weinberg, Sculptor, Curator, and Professor at Montclair State and Seton Hall.

Most of the art in this highly selective and prestigious show is for sale. An artist resource book with information about each artist will be available. Each guest receives a free full color illustrated catalog.

Audrey & Norbert Gaelen are connoisseurs of fine art who are long-time supporters of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ (formerly United Jewish Communities). This show is the continued realization of their dream to offer talented and creative artists in the surrounding community a unique venue for their art. Members of the Gaelen Juried Art Show & Sale Committee include: Gary Denburg, Simon Leventhal, Bernard Morcheles, Lois Dyer, Julie Levine, Oscar Peterson, and Walter Zimmerman. Lisa Suss is the Gaelen Show Coordinator.


The exhibition is free and open to the public, May 19-June 23.

Gallery hours are:

Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-7:30pm
Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Sunday (hours vary, please call)
